Android Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Android software engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Kotlin, and MVVM/MVP design patterns.

The selected individual will be responsible for designing and developing advanced mobile applications for the Android platform. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, working with outside data sources and APIs, unit-testing code for robustness, and continuously discovering, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs.
  • Unit-test code for robustness.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Java skills, including proficiency with concepts introduced in Java 8.
  • Understanding of Kotlin and ability to migrate to it is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of using MVVM and MVP design paradigms.
  • Strong understanding of SQLite and any ORM based adaptation on top of it.
  • Sound fundamental Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
  • Strong Unit and Integration test fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of using Jacoco and Spoon.
  • Fundamentally sound in using Git/Gitlab.
  • Strong agile background.
  • Experience with Android SDK.
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
