Job Description

This role involves managing software configuration, build processes, and documentation to ensure seamless integration and compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Configuration Management: Provide control and maintenance for software and document efforts, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all aspects of the CM program.
  • Build Content Validation: Validate software build contents and coordinate access to shared test environments to facilitate accurate configuration management.
  • Baseline Identification: Identify baseline and non-baseline products, enabling effective configuration status accounting and verification.
  • Tool Evaluation and Implementation: Research, evaluate, prototype, implement, and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance build systems for multiple languages and platforms.
  • Documentation Management: Track, audit, verify, and provide version-description for program documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Comprehensive CM Program Planning: Plan and execute all aspects of a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) program, including CM planning, configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration verification and audit.
  • Change and Configuration Control: Utilize CM tools and processes to define, educate, and implement change and configuration control processes at project and enterprise levels.
  • Collaboration and Support: Participate in working and planning groups, supporting project management, testers, and developers in the use and improvement of build and release systems and processes.
  • Automation and Auditing: Automate code analysis, unit testing, and deployment of build artifacts to test systems, and audit procedures at frequent intervals.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years related experience, with 8 years' software configuration experience in Software development, Systems Engineering, Software Integration, or similar areas.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
  • CM Tool Experience: Experience with CM tools such as TFS, Jira, etc.
  • Industry Education and Certification: Industry education and certification will be a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with technical or scientific software, understanding of Java, HTML/CSS, and relational databases.
  • Virtualization Technologies: Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Linux Command Line: Familiarity with the Linux command line.
  • Software Build Automation: Experience with software build automation.

This role requires a strong background in Computer Science and relevant industry experience.
