Horticultural Leadership Role

The position of Horticulture Manager entails overseeing the establishment and maintenance of high horticultural standards and practices. You will provide strategic direction, training, and motivation to the horticultural staff, interns, and volunteers.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who actively works in daily horticultural tasks in exterior gardens and greenhouses. You will collaborate with garden volunteers/docents to foster long-term productive relationships and grow the program over time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plant Health Management: Establishing and overseeing a systematic plant records policy, including direction of the plant collection policy and design aesthetic in coordination with the organization's master plan, mission, and strategies.
• Maintenance Coordination: Collaborating with the Grounds and Buildings Manager to coordinate heating and cooling of greenhouses, irrigation systems, and maintenance of horticultural equipment.
• Instructional Classes: Ability to organize, plan, and teach instructional classes in horticulture-related topics.
