Pharmacist Advisor

The position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist plays a crucial role in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services that promote desirable patient outcomes.

As a member of the clinical pharmacy team, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, evaluating and coordinating clinical pharmacy services to ensure safe, effective and economical pharmacotherapy for patients.

You will collaborate with physicians in establishing drug criteria for the safe, economical and appropriate use of medications.

A key aspect of this role is to participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations during discussions.

In addition, you will develop disease/drug therapy management programs to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.

You will also manage non-formulary requests for drugs, and participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee activities.

Other responsibilities include performing initial assessments of drugs having pre-established criteria to be monitored, and monitoring these drugs for follow-ups.

You will also participate in pharmacoeconomic evaluations and outcome research.

Furthermore, you will retrieve, analyze, evaluate, and interpret the scientific literature, and serve as the resource person for patient and population-specific drug information to health professionals and patients.

This role requires strong communication skills to respond to problems or emergency requests from patient care units.
