Senior Credit Risk Manager

Role Overview:

The Senior Credit Risk Manager oversees a nationwide team of credit experts responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through detailed financial analysis, market intelligence, and on-site evaluations.

This role requires consistent implementation of credit policies and risk assessment frameworks across all team operations. The Senior Credit Risk Manager collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline credit control processes and support business growth while minimizing risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor nationwide customer accounts to identify potential risks, overdue payments, and emerging credit concerns.
  • Drive timely and effective risk mitigation by coaching the team on proactive engagement and escalation procedures.
  • Provide regular reporting on team performance and credit risk exposure status to management.
  • Develop team capabilities through training, mentoring, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing credit control unit.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders Sales, Billing, and Customer Service to resolve disputes and billing queries.
  • Prepare aging reports, risk dashboards, and bad debt provision inputs.
  • Recommend suspensions, write-offs, deposit release, and legal escalations for chronic defaulters.
  • Support in contract reviews, settlements, and customer reconciliations.
  • Conduct credit reviews periodically to mitigate financial exposure.
Deliverables:
  • Automate existing manual processes to improve efficiency and enhance effectiveness of existing processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate credit evaluations for all new and existing customers.
  • Lead the approval process for high-value or complex credit accounts.
  • Perform accurate credit evaluations for new and existing clients and recommend appropriate credit limits and payment terms.
  • Supervise and mentor the credit control team, setting clear KPIs and SLAs.
  • Continuous process improvements and best practice recommendations.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation and explanations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Management and Finance.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Financial Evaluation or Credit Management, or related roles in a B2B environment preferably.
  • Strong understanding of industry practices and financial evaluation criteria.
