Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee the smooth functioning of our campus IT infrastructure and provide technical leadership to resolve complex issues.

About the Role:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of IT Support Engineers
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely resolution of IT support requests
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to the IT support team
  • Oversight of all IT support services for staff, students, and faculty members
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex technical problems
  • Manage and maintain campus-wide network infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance and implement necessary improvements to ensure optimal functionality

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate activities of IT Support Engineers
  2. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely resolution of IT support requests
  3. Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to the IT support team
  4. Campus IT Support: Oversee all IT support services for staff, students, and faculty members
  5. Issue Resolution: Ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, and network-related issues
  6. Escalation Point: Act as point of escalation for complex technical problems
  7. Network Administration: Manage and maintain campus-wide network infrastructure
  8. Network Performance: Monitor network performance and implement necessary improvements to ensure optimal functionality
  9. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
  10. System Administration: Oversee maintenance and management of servers, storage systems, and IT equipment
  11. System Updates: Ensure regular system updates, patches, and backups
  12. Security and Performance: Monitor system logs and address potential security or performance issues
  13. Policies and Documentation: Ensure IT support activities align with university policies and security standards
  14. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of campus IT infrastructure, procedures, and support activities
  15. Audit Support: Assist in audits related to IT operations and compliance
  16. Event Support: Provide technical support for university events, conferences, and examinations
  17. Project Collaboration: Collaborate with central IT team on implementation of campus-level IT projects
  18. Procurement and Inventory: Coordinate with IT Manager for procurement of campus IT equipment and supplies
  19. Inventory Management: Maintain updated inventory of IT assets
  20. Critical Issue Reporting: Report critical issues and provide regular updates to IT Manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support or network administration, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable
