The role of a Medical Officer in Family Medicine is to provide high-quality patient care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible treatment and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and reassess patients to form accurate diagnoses and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Calculate medication dosages and provide prescriptions accordingly, taking into account individual patient needs.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with patients, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Refer patients to relevant health facilities based on their specific requirements.
  • Enhance clinical competencies through ongoing education and training under Consultant supervision.
  • Familiarize yourself with infection control practices and adhere to them at all times.
  • Support teaching activities for postgraduate students of Medical College, contributing to the development of future healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Hold an MBBS degree from a recognized university, with a preferred additional diploma or MCPS in a relevant field.
  • Have at least six years of post-MBBS experience in related areas or three years with an additional diploma or MCPS.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively engage with faculty, staff, patients, and families.
  • Make informed decisions by weighing factors and developing solutions to prevent problems and recurrence.
  • Act quickly in crisis situations, providing counsel to patients and families while adapting your communication style to suit their needs.
  • Exhibit good written communication skills, particularly in patient care documentation.
