The Professional Development Centre North (PDCN), located in Gilgit, plays a crucial role in advancing these objectives by offering specialized programs and initiatives tailored to address the unique educational needs of Northern Pakistan.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead an educational entity in a region poised for growth and transformation. As the Head of the PDCN, you will play a central role in driving quality education and professional development initiatives across Northern Pakistan.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic direction for PDCN's activities, setting annual goals, planning projects, and evaluating outcomes to promote educational excellence;
  • Overseeing and innovating professional development and certification programs aimed at educators, school leaders, and communities, including resource planning, budget management, and curriculum enhancement;
  • Leading applied research projects in key areas such as teacher development, curriculum enhancement, and policy influence, contributing significantly to educational discourse regionally and nationally;
  • Building and strengthening collaborations with stakeholders, including government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs, and local community organizations, to drive sustainable development and maximize program reach;
  • Ensuring efficient management of PDCN's operations, including human resources, financial administration, and compliance with policies; Actively participating in resource mobilization efforts to support the centre's growth and impact;
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure grants, endowments, and partnerships supporting the PDCN's programmes and long-term sustainability;
  • Cultivating a positive organizational culture by providing mentorship, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative environment for PDCN's staff.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • A Master's degree in Education, Development Studies, Management, or a closely related field, with a PhD preferred;
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in education, development, or a related sector, with proven expertise in program design, community engagement, and resource management;
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse workforce;
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and quality assurance;
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and oversee educational and development projects with a focus on practical applications;
  • Proven skills in partnership building and stakeholder management at local and national levels;
  • Fluency in English, with knowledge of local languages and cultural context highly desired;
  • Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
