Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented character animator with strong expertise in lip sync and facial animation to bring compelling and expressive performances to life. The ideal candidate is passionate about character performance, understands the subtleties of human emotion, and can effectively translate that into believable, high-quality animation.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality character animations with a focus on facial performance and lip-sync for dialogue-driven scenes.
  • Collaborate with rigging, modeling, and sound teams to ensure animations are consistent with character design and audio tracks.
  • Interpret scripts and audio to craft believable emotional and narrative-driven facial expressions.
  • Work closely with Animation Directors and Leads to ensure animation style and quality align with the project's vision.
  • Maintain consistency in character performance across scenes and assets.
  • Implement animation into game engines or rendering pipelines as required.
  • Participate in review sessions, take feedback constructively, and iterate animations accordingly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in character animation, preferably in games, film, or TV.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max).
  • Solid understanding of facial anatomy, phonemes, and viseme creation.
  • Proven ability to animate lip-sync accurately to dialogue with realistic or stylized performance.
  • Experience with facial capture data (Faceware, Live Link, or similar) is a plus.
