Lead Tax Specialist

This is a critical leadership role where you will oversee and manage the firm's tax compliance department.

  • The key responsibility of this position includes leading strategic tax planning, market analysis, and execution to contribute to the overall growth of the firm.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and responding to client and authority notices with detailed reasoning, as well as updating and managing notices lists, appeal lists, and tribunal lists.
  • Another key aspect of this role involves verifying tax computations, schedules, and workings before replying to notices, informing clients about tax gaps or liabilities via email and correspondence, and obtaining client approval for tax liabilities and fee payments.
  • You will also handle all income tax and sales tax correspondence with relevant authorities and manage indirect taxes correspondence with regulatory bodies.
  • As part of your responsibilities, you will represent the firm in meetings with senior officials to address queries and secure orders from authorities in favor of clients.
  • Filing appeals and representing clients in appeals before commissioners and tribunals are also essential functions of this position.
  • Lastly, you will oversee company tax computations and e-filing of annual ITRs, discuss notices or cases with clients, and review filings before submission.
Key Requirements
  • A minimum ACCA/CA/ICMA/LLB qualification or finalist status, along with an MBA from an HEC-recognized institution, is required for this position.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in top audit or tax consultancy firms is necessary to succeed in this role.
