Job Description:

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a dynamic academic centre that serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services.

Our clinical laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab and specimen collection units across Pakistan.

We have five major sections: Chemical Pathology, Haematology & Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and engaged in research and teaching.

Responsibilities
  • We are seeking an individual to organize and coordinate administrative and technical activities of the assigned section.
  • You will run compliance for laboratory protocol and policy guidelines.
  • Staffing matters such as attendance, discipline, and counselling will be handled by you.
  • Effective communication of critical results and documentation as per protocol is essential.
  • Routine and STAT clinical laboratory tests or technical procedures will be performed by you.
  • Duty rota creation and staff over time approval will also be part of your responsibilities.
  • Compliance with CAP & JCIA standards is mandatory.
Requirements
  • A BS / BSC in Biological Science (4 years Program), Masters preferred.
  • 3 years of experience as a Senior Technologist at a hospital or 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Laboratory testing procedures.
  • Latest developments in Medical Technology field.
  • Good knowledge of employee relations technique.
