Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our accounting operations, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing general ledger accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of monthly and year-end financial information.
  • Collaborate with other accounting staff to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Respond to inquiries from ownership groups, regulatory agencies, and other finance managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Assist with the year-end audit process.
  • Meet all financial reporting deadlines.
  • Work with other Accounting staff to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor progress to enhance development of processes for recording and reporting.
  • Support Accounting Supervisors with special projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting is desired. Accounting experience may be substituted for education.
  • One to three years of experience in financial reporting/general ledger area. Experience working in multi-family real estate is preferred.
  • P.C. proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with MRI, YARDI, or other large automated accounting systems is a plus. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
