This is a critical role within the mechanical design team, requiring a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development of MEP systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing plumbing, firefighting, HVAC systems, vertical transport systems, swimming pool and water feature systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Design: Responsible for designing and developing comprehensive MEP system designs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Hydraulic Calculations: Perform or provide hydraulic calculations and design studies, equipment sizing calculation for Firefighting and Plumbing. Traffic analysis for vertical transport. Equipment schedules for HVAC.
  • Evaluating Technical Submittals: Evaluating technical submittals for all the mechanical equipment as per provided design. Evaluating shop drawings and details as per requirement.
  • Drawings and Documentation: Generate mechanical system drawings including Single Line diagrams, Mechanical Schematics, Riser Diagrams. Prepare and verify Tender Documents including Bill of Quantities, Engineer's Cost Estimate, and Technical Specifications.
  • Site Management: Managing site-related issues and resolving services conflicts with structural and architectural elements.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with experience in leading teams and managing projects from concept through to construction stage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as well as the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Mechanical design team, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Examine and verify technical drawings/specifications, ensuring they meet the required standards and regulations.
  • Design Presentation: Present multiple design options along with cost impact analysis, clearly communicating the benefits and limitations of each option.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee projects from concept through to construction stage, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to relevant departments for coordination with government and other authorities.

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a lead role. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant tools is also essential.
