The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services under one roof.

In addition to tertiary care hospitals, AKU has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines.

The Hospital provides Zakat for eligible patients and generous Patient Welfare to support those in financial need.

In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and Clinical Laboratories are accredited by College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Responsibilities
  • Perform assessment and reassessment of patients
  • Identify urgent care cases and manage them in a timely manner
  • Practice evidence-based medicine
  • Calculate correct medication dosages and provide prescriptions
  • Maintain regular patient follow-ups
  • Evaluate patient conditions and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Refer patients to relevant health facilities as needed
  • Enhance clinical competencies under supervision
  • Participate in educational activities such as CMEs, Grand Rounds, and Journal Clubs
  • Familiarize with infection control practices and adhere to workplace protocols
  • Support teaching activities for undergraduate students
  • Provide administrative assistance as assigned
Requirements
  • Hold a MBBS degree from a HEC recognized university; additional diploma or MCPS preferred
  • At least ten years post-MBBS experience in related areas or eight years with additional qualifications
  • Ability to understand patient perspectives
  • Maintain continuous open communication with faculty, staff, patients, and families
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex issues
  • Ability to counsel patients and adapt communication styles to suit their needs
