Researcher Position

The Institute for Global Health and Development is a unique entity that facilitates strategic engagements and partnerships between various stakeholders. Our mission is to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure.

We work across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.

This is a grant-funded contractual position that offers opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and undertake a research-based scholarly project to advance understanding in climate and health.
  • Publish at least one manuscript in a reputable international journal.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ongoing research projects.
  • Disseminate research outcomes through publications, presentations, and academic discussions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior researchers to encourage knowledge exchange.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to build capacity.
  • Attend supervisor and stakeholder meetings for better coordination and linkages.

Requirements:

  • Completed master's or doctoral degree in public health, environmental health, or a relevant field.
  • Research experience in the related discipline is required along with a record of scholarly publications and/or conference presentations.
  • Strong analytical, research, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent/supportive research, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and analyze data critically.
