The main aim of the FAO country offices is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The position is based at various locations in Punjab and Sindh Provinces, with a focus on supporting farmers' adoption of climate change adaptation technologies and practices through a network of established Farmers Field Schools.

Under the overall supervision of the GCF International Technical Adviser (Agriculture Production), the incumbent will report to the Lead Partnership Facilitator and District Team Leader (DTL) and work closely with sectoral specialists and project team members in performing tasks and duties related to facilitating field-level interventions for establishing Climate Business Field Schools (CBFS), Farmer Field Schools for Women (FFS-W), and Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) demonstration sites.

The incumbent will oversee and quality-assure the implementation of Letters of Agreement with service providers for FFS outreach, support service providers in implementing integrated and holistic community outreach, and facilitate the development of detailed community outreach plans for empowering livestock farmers through FFS and community-wide interventions.

The job holder will coordinate routine engagements with technical departments at district level for joint planning, technical backstopping, and supervision of community outreach activities, and ensure that guidelines for implementing good-quality FFS on livestock are followed. They will also establish and manage demonstration plots, conduct needs assessments, and prepare meeting minutes.

In addition, the job holder will perform demo plot profiling, prepare a profiling report, identify training and visibility materials using SOPs, and request provision of materials from the LP and DTL. They will contribute to fine-tuning or improving the CBFS and WOS curriculum where needed during adaptive research demo plot studies.

The job requires strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, as well as ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment and rural communities. The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in agriculture, water management, irrigation agribusiness, minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural research, and minimum 2 years of experience in Farmer Field School (FFS) or agriculture extension.

Familiarity with UN systems and procedures regarding code of conduct and resource use is an asset, as well as experience in agribusiness and climate resilient agriculture value chain. Women with agricultural research backgrounds are highly promoted to apply.
