Job Description:

This role is responsible for providing dedicated legal support to functional departments within the organization. The key function of this position is to consult, advise, review and negotiate contracts in line with the organization's internal values, policies, procedures and applicable law.

The Legal Counsel will work independently and decisively to provide legal assistance to relevant stakeholders after carefully understanding the business context surrounding the contract and its impact vis-à-vis the business needs.

The role will be responsible for both day-to-day operational activities as well as strategic initiatives and projects, collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The Legal Counsel reports directly to the Head of Contracts.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review contracts and engage with internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate directly with counter parties in case of any contention/conflict
  • Provide legal advice on various matters
  • Recognize when issues require specialist legal support
  • Engage in training of relevant business personnel on legal developments and contract management
  • Provide legal advice over all aspects pertaining to new strategic initiatives and ventures
  • Assist in streamlining processes and procedures pertaining to key risk areas
Required Skills and Qualifications:

LLB/LLM/Bar at Law Degree with at least 4 to 6 years working experience in an in-house legal team or law firm/chamber.

Knowledge of the legal framework especially company and telecom laws in Pakistan.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in stakeholder management.

Coming up with legal solutions focused towards delivering real time business value.

Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and ability to research.

Decision making & problem solving.

Teamwork.
