Floor Craftsman

Create stunning floors and walls by installing and repairing various types of tiles in residential and commercial properties.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Measure and prepare surfaces for tiling projects
2. Cut and shape tiles to fit specific areas, using manual and power tools with precision
3. Mix and apply adhesives to secure tiles in place, ensuring a strong bond
4. Install tiles in a variety of patterns, considering aesthetic appeal and structural integrity
5. Repair and replace damaged or broken tiles, restoring their original condition
6. Ensure proper alignment and spacing of tiles, maintaining symmetry and balance
7. Apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout, achieving a clean finish
8. Clean and polish installed tiles to achieve a smooth finish, enhancing their appearance
9. Collaborate with other tradespeople on tiling projects, coordinating efforts for efficient completion
10. Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety guidelines at all times

Requirements:

1. Demonstrate proven experience as a floor craftsman or similar role, showcasing expertise and knowledge
2. Understand different tile materials and installation techniques, including masonry, woodwork, and glass
3. Showcase effective use of tile cutting tools, such as wet saws and tile nippers
4. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and layout, ensuring precise execution
5. Possess physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects, handling demanding tasks with ease
6. Evidence good communication skills for teamwork and client interaction, facilitating effective collaboration
7. Display flexibility to work varied hours as needed, adapting to project requirements and deadlines
