Academic Lecturer in Optometry and Orthoptics

• Meet performance targets assigned by the Head of Department.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
• Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy, developing your own teaching skills and contributing to the planning of teaching programs.
• Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
• Challenge student thinking, foster debate, and develop critical discourse and rational thinking.
• Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, setting and assessing work and examinations, and providing feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress and contribute to internal evaluation processes.
• Execute mentoring programs for 15-20 students, updating data in relevant software as required.
• Integrate Islamic and ethical values into teaching practices, participating in departmental and university committees as needed.
• Ensure teaching content and methods align with Riphah University's mission, responding to issues related to subordinates and student needs.
• Supervise student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals, carrying out independent research and acting as principal investigator and project leader.
• Act as a line manager, supervising others in research teams and projects, or as PhD supervisor when required.

This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A Master's degree in Optometry or a related field is preferred. Experience in teaching and academic administration is desirable.
