Financial Leadership Role

The Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer is responsible for managing the university's assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures, funds, and investments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial resources to ensure they are expended on approved purposes.
  • Develop and implement annual and revised budget estimates in collaboration with the Executive Committee or a committee thereof.
  • Ensure timely and accurate auditing of university accounts annually.
  • Perform additional duties as prescribed by the university.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least an MBA in Finance or membership in professional accounting bodies.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards specific to higher education.
  • Ability to analyze and manage complex budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Skills in interpreting financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Experience in long-term financial planning and aligning financial resources with the university's goals.
  • Understanding of federal and local regulations affecting higher education finance.
  • Experience with internal and external audits, including ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency with financial management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to leverage data analytics tools to enhance financial decision-making and reporting.
