We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to contribute to our healthcare operations. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Extract essential information from patient records, including diagnoses and procedures.
- Verify the presence of necessary information in patient documents and contact healthcare staff if anything is missing.
- Assign accurate codes for procedures, services, diagnoses, and anesthesia using systems like CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA.
- Ensure accurate billing by assigning APC and DRG codes for outpatient and inpatient services respectively.
- Review patient charts to verify correct code application and accuracy in billing.
- Medical Coding Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of medical coding systems, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, ASA, APC, and DRG coding.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) Proficiency: Skilled in using EHR software and electronic medical records.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to ensure accurate coding and billing.
