Job Title: Histopathology Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Histopathology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for preparing histologic slides from human tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist.

Main Responsibilities:

• Section Preparation: Prepare sections of human tissue for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis using techniques such as grossing, embedding, sectioning/microtomy, staining, and mounting tissue from surgical procedures.
• Tissue Examination: Examine slides and/or blocks to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements.
• Independent Judgment: Exercise independent judgment in resolving procedural and technical issues.
• Training and Supervision: Train or supervise Laboratory Assistants and Histology Technicians engaged in laboratory testing and processing techniques.
• Maintenance and Quality Control: Maintain laboratory equipment and document all routine maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in histopathology or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and software.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
