This position involves overseeing the orphan care program, providing ongoing support to collect and verify orphan applications.
- Collect relevant documents such as photographs, birth certificates, health certificates, and school certificates for orphans under sponsorship.
- Conduct regular home visits to oversee the welfare of sponsored orphans.
- Visit schools as needed to maintain liaison with teachers and obtain updates to ensure educational continuity for sponsored orphans.
- Inform orphans' mothers/guardians about progress and children's rights issues.
- Responsible for collecting and sharing application forms, annual reports, photos, and other required documents.
- Gather data for periodic orphan progress reports.
- Assist in opening bank accounts for orphans.
- Support orphan payments by preparing area-wise payment lists and submitting them to the finance department for timely disbursement.
- Coordinate with relevant organizations and authorities to improve services for sponsored orphans.
- Organize IEC (Information, Education, Communication) sessions within the community on widows and orphan welfare issues.
- Arrange cultural events for sponsored orphans within budget to promote mental and psychological well-being.
- Explore ideas for the welfare of orphans and their families to identify potential funding sources in collaboration with the orphan program.
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly activity reports to the Program Manager.
- Manage gift distribution and report on gifts received for orphans.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and reporting of child welfare and seasonal projects such as Qurbani, Ramadan food distributions, in-kind donations, and school supplies.
- Perform any other tasks related to the orphan program as requested by the Head Office.
Required Skills and Experience:
Masters/M.Phil. in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a relevant discipline.
At least 2-3 years of direct experience working with orphans in a donor-funded environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling reports.
Strong relationship-building and networking skills to engage community members and stakeholders.
Good understanding of the orphan cluster approach.
Proficiency in using databases and the Microsoft Office Suite.
