Technical Lead - API Development

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a Technical Lead - API Development to oversee the design, development, and deployment of APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. API Architecture: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain API proxies using Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X.
  2. API Security: Ensure secure communication using OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, OKTA, and Basic Auth.
  3. Team Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams globally, sometimes during early morning or evening hours.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant IT experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 5+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor's degree.
  • Skills: Full-stack application development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript), data structures, algorithms, and data stores.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years in API development and management.
  • Hands-on experience with Apigee Hybrid or Apigee X.
  • Experience managing Apigee in multi-region setups.
  • Strong expertise in REST API standards and design.
  • Proficiency in OAuth2, JWT, TLS/mTLS, and traffic management policies.
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes, YAML, Helm.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and GCP).
  • Understanding of Apigee components (runtime and management plane).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams globally, sometimes during early morning or evening hours.
