Principal User Interface and User Experience Specialist

We are a tech organization seeking a dedicated UI/UX Designer as a remote independent contractor. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers and product stakeholders to design intuitive, data-centric applications that balance usability, consistency, and clean design.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead user interface and user experience design in Figma, from wireframes and prototypes to final design assets
- Collaborate with the product team to create low-fidelity wireframes for rapid discovery and iteration
- Translate concepts into clean, logical, scalable user flows that developers can implement with confidence
- Maintain a Figma component library / design system aligned with React best practices
- Work with developers to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and well-structured
- Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and usability
- Prioritize micro-interactions, spacing, typography, and accessibility
- Support continuous improvement of product usability and visual consistency
- Takes pride in design quality and consistency
- Can challenge assumptions and improve usability without overcomplicating things
