This position requires an accounting professional to collaborate with departments on various aspects of financial management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Budget Preparation
  • Collaborate with departments to monitor and record budget revisions, supporting the preparation of budgets and associated communications.
  • Policies and Compliance
  • Monitor compliance with revenue and expense policies, drafting improvements to guidelines on cost savings, cost allocation, and annual planning.
  • Financial Coordination
  • Maintain liaison with departments to ensure financial continuity, accuracy, and adherence to key processes for operational cost and revenue budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Report Streamlining
  • Support the implementation of initiatives to streamline budget, actual, and variance reports, improving timeliness, efficiency, effectiveness, and usefulness of reports and analyses.
  • Account Configuration
  • Implement the setup of revenue, expense, and capital project accounts as advised by supervisor.
  • Budget Accuracy
  • Collect and organize proposed budget submissions from department managers, checking for accuracy and completeness.
  • Error Identification
  • Identify errors and omissions, coordinating with departments to obtain clarifications or adjustments as needed.
  • Financial Consolidation
  • Assist in consolidating budgets for the organization, ensuring consistency in planned cash inflows and outflows and overall financial goals.
  • Variance Reporting
  • Extract reports to compare actual results to budgeted outcomes at the end of each reporting period, highlighting significant variances.
  • Financial Analysis
  • Prepare detailed variance analysis reports comparing actuals to annual budget plans for costs, sales, collections, and general ledgers.
  • Presentations and Recommendations
  • Develop drafts presenting and explaining budgetary and financial analyses, including recommendations for gaps or funding requirements.
