Customer Service Representative Job Description

We are seeking a professional to act as a liaison between customers and our organization, providing product/services information, answering questions, and resolving emerging problems with accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries, and maintain high customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing large amounts of incoming phone calls
  • Identifying and assessing customers' needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Building sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open communication
  • Providing accurate, valid, and complete information using the right methods/tools
  • Meeting sales targets and call handling quotas
  • Handling customer complaints, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives; following up to ensure resolution
  • Keeping records of customer interactions, processing customer accounts, and filing documents
  • Following communication procedures, guidelines, and policies
  • Taking extra steps to engage customers

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A High School Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working with customer support is a plus
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with stressed or upset customers
