Android Software Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Android software engineer to join our team. As a mobile app developer, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality mobile applications using your expertise in application architecture and mobile technologies.

As a key member of our development team, you will collaborate with internal teams to develop functional mobile applications. You should be able to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications, utilizing your passion for mobile platforms and translating code into user-friendly apps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced Android applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Have strong knowledge of Android SDK and handling different screen sizes.
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of MVC, MVVM, Architecture components, and memory management.
  • Strong knowledge of ROOM models and defining relationships, accessing data using DAO's.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of ROOM and SQLite and performing CRUD operations, JOINs, and proficient in RDBMS.
  • Good understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with Firebase real-time database, remote config, cloud message APIs, and push notifications.
  • Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
  • Working on Google Maps & Navigation APIs.
  • Having strong skills in Gradle and Android Studio.
Requirements
  • Proven 2 to 5 years of stand-alone mobile app development experience.
  • 5 to 10 apps live on the Play Store.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant fields.
