  • Key responsibilities include providing Design of Plumbing (water supply, Sewerage, Drainage), Firefighting, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems, vertical transport systems, swimming pool and water feature systems.
  • The position requires performing Hydraulic calculations and design studies, equipment sizing calculation for Firefighting and Plumbing. Traffic analysis for vertical transport is also necessary. Equipment schedules for HVAC should be prepared.
  • Evaluating technical submittals for all the mechanical equipment as per provided design is crucial. Evaluating shop drawings and details as per requirement is also a key responsibility.
  • Generating mechanical system drawings including Single Line diagrams, Mechanical Schematics, Riser Diagrams is essential.
  • Managing site related issues and resolving services conflicts with structural and architectural elements is a major task.
  • Preparing and verifying Tender Documents including Bill of Quantities, Engineer's Cost Estimate and Technical Specifications is a significant responsibility.
  • Familiarity with work-related software such as CAD, HAP, WaterGem, Elitefire etc. Revit is considered an asset.
  • PEC certification – Professional/ Registered Engineer is mandatory.

Main challenges and opportunities for this Job:

  • Coordinating with other teams and solving core issues of MEP is a priority.
  • Presenting multiple design options along with cost impact analysis is a key skill required.
  • Ensuring that the design meets International and local standards and management/client requirements is essential.
Main Accountabilities:
  • Leading a team of Mechanical designers
  • Examining & verifying technical drawings/specifications
  • Presentation of multiple design options along with cost impact analysis
  • Overseeing projects from concept through to construction stage
  • Providing technical support to relevant departments for Coordination with government and other authorities
  • Handling various people and issues in relation to the preparation of technical designs and display the ability to work through those issues.
  • Responsible for time management for projects
  • Distributing project goals and communicating targets with team members
  • Evaluating the quality of their team members' tasks and projects
  • Scrutiny of the contractor's shop drawings and equipment technical submittals
  • Involvement in site inspection and top supervision project surveys.
  • Creation of workflow templates to streamline processes and increase efficiency
