Healthcare Professional

We are seeking a medical professional to join our healthcare team as a Medical Officer.

• The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and adopt a professional approach with all patients, staff, and visitors.
• They must work within their level of experience and competence, communicating orders from consultants and team members verbally and in writing while caring for patients in wards.
• A key responsibility will be providing medical cover, routine and emergency, during duty hours, working with other MOs to ensure 24-hour hospital service.
• The Medical Officer will evaluate admitted patients by taking complete history, performing physical examinations, and documenting in the hospital management information system.
• They will conduct morning, evening, and night ward rounds, preferably with nursing staff, to ensure patient visits where appropriate.
• The Medical Officer will record patient progress and events in the hospital management information system following ward rounds or examinations.
• Advice will be sought from senior team members regarding patient health issues.
• Handover reports will be received from other RMOs/SMOs and attendance at ward areas will be within an hour of duty start in all shifts.
• Pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care will be provided for admitted patients.
• Laboring patients will be managed and vaginal deliveries, including vacuum deliveries, will be performed as per residency/competency level and supervision.
• Patients in ER will be assessed and managed; complicated antenatal cases should be evaluated by SMO and endorsed by a specialist before admission or discharge decisions.
• Medical procedures will be performed advised by the Consultant within their experience and competence.
• Liaison will be made with nursing staff to check on patient progress; patients will be seen upon request and examinations will be performed accordingly.
• Discharge medications will be discussed with patients and discharge summaries will be prepared.
• Confidentiality of all patient medical information will be maintained and leaks avoided at all costs.
• Urgent medical attention and treatment will be provided to staff or visitors in case of accidents or sudden illnesses, in coordination with the medical team.
• Hospital premises will remain accessible during duty; if an RMO/SMO does not attend, the previous MO must stay until a replacement is found to ensure continuous coverage.
• Hospital policies and procedures, especially those related to Health and Safety at Work, will be complied with.
