Job Title: Mechanical Static Lead Designer

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Static Lead Designer to oversee the design process of tank systems. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader responsible for ensuring that all aspects of tank systems are well-engineered, safe, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design Calculations: Conduct detailed mechanical calculations for tank systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Engineering Drawings and Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, data sheets, and technical documentation to define the design, materials, and specifications of tank systems.
  • Fabrication Detail Drawings: Create fabrication-level drawings outlining the details of tank construction, ensuring clear instructions for the manufacturing team.
  • Material Quantification and Procurement: Accurately prepare bills of quantities and material take-offs to account for necessary materials and components in project scope.
  • Tank Project Specifications and Communication: Develop and review request for quotations, technical clarification letters, and specifications for tank projects, ensuring clear communication with contractors and vendors.
  • Contractor Coordination and Scope Definition: Develop clear and detailed scopes of work for contractors to align with project requirements and objectives.
  • Client, Vendor, and Stakeholder Management: Serve as primary point of contact between clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring alignment and meeting stakeholder requirements.
  • Tank Accessories and Appurtenance Procurement and Installation: Oversee procurement and installation of tank accessories and appurtenances, including floating roofs, oil skimmers, internals, breathing valves, gauge hatches, and related systems.
  • Design Optimization and Problem-Solving: Identify design challenges and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all designs meet safety, regulatory, and industry standards, participating in design drawing reviews to maintain high-quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum) and relevant training courses (desired).
  • 5-7 years of experience in Mechanical Design of Storage Tanks for Oil & Gas Plants, Refineries, Petrochemical Plants, and Fertilizers Industry.
  • Proficiency in static equipment design software, specifically tank design software and tools such as AME Tank, Compress, PV-Elite, etc.
  • ERP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle), strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
