">We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Species Management and Research Assistant.
">As a key member of our project, you will play a vital role in the successful implementation of our species assessment and conservation initiatives.
">- You will work closely with our project staff and partners to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Your primary responsibilities will include providing administrative support, maintaining records, and ensuring timely delivery of project outputs.
- You will also assist in the design and implementation of new wildlife conservation projects aligned with global biodiversity goals.
- In addition, you will participate in data collection, field surveys, and species assessments, ensuring adherence to standardized methodologies for scientific outputs.
- You will prepare technical, financial, and progress reports for submission to stakeholders, in line with project requirements.
- You will contribute to IUCN's One Programme Approach, ensuring integration across different conservation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
">- Provide administrative support in the implementation of project activities as per the agreement between IUCN and the relevant government department, in alignment with the approved work plan.
- Maintain close liaison with district level project stakeholders, vendors, and communities.
- Attend project meetings, ensure list of participants, invitations for the meetings, meeting minutes, and organizing project reports.
- Coordinate with staff of the relevant government department to solicit their cooperation and support in implementation of the project and ensure their participation in meetings/workshops.
- Assist in maintaining project budgets and tracking expenditures in compliance with IUCN's financial policies and donor guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining records of project hirings both HR and Administrative.
- Coordinate with project staff, including field staff, and consultants to ensure the timely delivery of work plans and quality outputs.
- Follow ups at District level with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutions, and conservation organizations, to effectively implement the project.
- Follow up on stakeholders' engagement, consultations, and organizing workshops on wildlife assessment, surveys, and species monitoring.
- Participate in data collection, field surveys, and species assessments, ensuring adherence to standardized methodologies for scientific outputs.
- Prepare technical, financial, and progress reports for submission to IUCN and donors, in line with project requirements.
- Ensure implementation of a communication plan for disseminating key findings and raising awareness about species conservation.
- Participate in surveys, assessments, data processing, and reporting for the Red Data Book development.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Forestry, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years of experience in wildlife surveys, species assessments, and conservation.
">- You should have proficiency in English and Urdu (Reading, spoken and written) is must. Fluency in local languages of Punjab will be an added advantage.
- You should be able to work in field conditions and participate in field surveys in rugged, mountainous, or remote terrains.
- You should be physically fit to travel and undertake fieldwork in challenging conditions.
- You should have good communication and report-writing skills.
Salary Information
">The gross annual salary for this position is between PKR 2'000'490 and PKR 2'500'612.
