A leading organization seeks a highly skilled and experienced Power Plant Shift Assistant to join its team.

Job Description

The Power Plant Shift Assistant is responsible for providing technical support to the shift supervisor in ensuring the smooth operation of a 24/7 functional Co-generation Power Plant. This involves assisting with equipment maintenance, cleaning, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

  • Assist seniors in carrying out effective Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant & Waste heat recovery plant equipment.
  • Support shift supervisors in power plant operations during shifts.
  • Receive consumables like diesel oil and lube oil, and assist in their storage.
  • Participate in maintenance work activities during breakdowns, emergencies, shutdowns, and when required by the supervisors.
  • Monitor plant performance, equipment conditions, and system parameters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Diploma of Associate Engineer) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 4 years in a shift operator/shift assistant role.
  • Sound knowledge of larger rating Gas and Diesel Engine Generators along with auxiliaries such as cooling towers, HT & LT water systems, and heat recovery systems.
  • Familiarity with MV (11KV) electrical systems, operation of VCBs & MCC.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Effective communication skills.
