Android Developer Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing native Android applications using Java and be familiar with OpenGL programming on the Android platform.

The selected candidate will work closely with other technical leads to determine system integration designs, communicate risks and issues to project managers, and diagnose and resolve development-related performance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build native Android applications using Java
  • Develop location-aware applications using GIS technology
  • Deploy Android apps to Google Play
  • Participate in the development of mobile application design
  • Collaborate with business analysts and mobile UX designers to determine detailed tasks
  • Work with other technical leads to determine system integration design
  • Communicate risks and issues to the project manager
  • Diagnose and resolve development-related performance issues
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to execute multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in building location-aware applications using GIS technology
  • Familiarity with OpenGL programming on the Android platform
  • Knowledge of native mobile application development best practices
