Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Reconciliation and Analysis: Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  2. Financial Reporting: Provide financial status information by preparing special reports, completing special projects, and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  3. Error Correction: Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  4. General Ledger Management: Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts, analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers, and preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
  5. Financial Security: Secure financial information by completing database backups and keeping information confidential, adhering to strict data protection policies.
  6. Accounting Controls: Maintain accounting controls by following established policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements, and ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  7. Professional Development: Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and attending industry events to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in financial accounting.
  8. Team Collaboration: Achieve accounting and organizational mission by collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing exceptional support to ensure seamless financial operations.
