Oracle Database Specialist

At our organization, we seek a highly skilled Oracle Database Specialist to lead end-to-end database projects.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  2. Analyze and execute complex database migration, conversion, and upgrade projects.
  3. Oversee the upgrade and management of large Oracle databases on Linux and Exadata to Oracle 19c.
  4. Translate business requirements into database designs and capabilities.
  5. Perform data architecture design, data security, performance tuning, and backup/recovery planning.
  6. Consult on optimal database environment design and recommend performance improvements.
  7. Develop and implement new product features tailored to database needs.
  8. Implement data compression, partitioning, RAC, RMAN, and Data Guard solutions.
  9. Ensure IT compliance and risk management, including security and privacy standards.
  10. Establish database access controls and respond to performance issues.
  11. Manage database crash recovery and performance analysis, including SQL query tuning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience as an Oracle DBA (10g, 11g, 12c, 19c).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c implementations, upgrades, conversions, and consolidation projects.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c technical database concepts.
  • Minimum three years of working knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle ASM, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Database Security.
  • Good organizational and communication skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, high-profile, mission-critical, and dynamic 24x7 large-scale Oracle environments.
  • Proven experience in database and SQL performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
  • Ability to drive product issues to resolution following ITIL processes and provide Level 3 support.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux, AIX, etc.
  • Preferred skills include Oracle Certified Expert (RAC/Performance Tuning).
