Assistant Fashion Designer

A leading fashion brand is seeking a talented Assistant Fashion Designer to join its team in the research and production of innovative clothing lines that align with current market trends. As a Fashion Designer, you will have the exciting opportunity to travel to fashion events, analyze market data, and identify emerging fashion trends. Collaborating with our team of skilled Designers and Marketers, you will translate these trends into captivating clothing products that resonate with customers.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparing drawings or digital renderings of outfits for approval by clients.
  • Communicating with department heads to ensure all demands are addressed.
  • Coordinating fittings between designers and customers to guarantee satisfaction with fit, style, and fabric quality.
  • Managing the customer database, including contact information and purchase histories.
  • Creating a thorough clothing budget based on client needs and designer pricing lists.
  • Assisting designers with the fabric-choosing process by supplying samples of fabrics for use in drawings.
  • Managing customer information by keeping track of purchases and fashion trends to provide relevant advice.
  • Discussing clients' design demands with fashion designers to gather advice.
  • Working with current and new clients on new ideas, concepts, and designs.
  • Assisting in building mood and trend boards for reference purposes.
  • Performing detailed market trend research to determine competitive prospects.
Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in design or fine arts, or a college degree in fashion design or an equivalent subject.
  • 3-5 years of design experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Pattern and cutting knowledge (Sketch and Technical skills).
  • Excellent design and conceptual abilities.
  • Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator Skills (Mandatory)
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Eastern and Western Styles.
  • Familiarity with custom accessories.
