Job Overview

The UNDP is seeking a skilled Finance Analyst to join their team in Islamabad.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP policies and procedures, providing support in closure of audit gaps and contributing to effective internal controls.
  • Analyze proposals on cost-saving and reduction strategies, monitoring financial exception reports and investigating anomalies or unusual transactions.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing, providing training and technical guidance on audit and compliance matters.

The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting qualification from an internationally accredited institute of accountancy, or an Advanced University Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.

A first-level university degree in combination with additional qualifying experience may also be considered. The selected candidate should possess advanced knowledge of web-based management systems, such as ERP financials and database packages.

Requirements
  • Professional accounting qualification from an internationally accredited institute of accountancy.
  • Advanced University Degree in Finance and/or Accounting, or a first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience.
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages, including web-based management systems.

The Finance Analyst will work closely with Operations, Programme, and Project teams, as well as UN agencies and Government officials, to ensure successful financial performance.

Knowledge and experience working in the development sector, partner agencies or UN sector rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is desired.
