About the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and editing articles for factual accuracy, clarity, grammar, and overall quality. This includes verifying information, sources, and consistency in style and formatting across all content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit Articles: Review and edit articles to ensure adherence to editorial guidelines.
- Copy Editing: Perform detailed copy editing to ensure correct language, tone, and style.
- Coordination: Work closely with the Managing Editor and Associate Editor to meet editorial deadlines and manage the content pipeline.
- Consistency and Accuracy: Ensure consistency in style and formatting while verifying information and sources.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in editing, journalism, or a related field.
- Language Skills: Exceptional command of written English and Urdu.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, style, and factual accuracy.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Cultural Insight: Strong understanding of Pakistan's political and cultural landscape, with the ability to think critically and evaluate political discourse.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in journalism, communication, English, or a related field.
