Data Analytics Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Senior Power BI Developer to spearhead our high-impact data and analytics initiative for a prominent aviation client. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end dashboard development, data integration, and advanced analytics, ensuring real-time insights into flight operations, financials, and HR metrics.

You will collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders, technology teams, and compliance officers to design and maintain secure, scalable reporting solutions that drive data-driven decisions across the organization.

1. Data Integration & Modeling:
   • Design, build, and optimize data ingestion pipelines to consolidate data from multiple sources (Excel, SharePoint, SQL databases, APIs).
   • Develop efficient data models (star/snowflake schemas) to support real-time and batch reporting needs.
   • Implement data transformation and cleansing processes to ensure high-quality, accurate data.
2. Power BI Dashboard Development:
   • Create intuitive, user-centric dashboards and reports showcasing operational KPIs, financial metrics, and HR-related insights.
   • Utilize advanced DAX and Power Query (M) for complex calculations and data manipulation.
   • Configure row-level security (RLS) and role-based access to protect sensitive or confidential data.
3. Performance Optimization & Scalability:
   • Optimize Power BI datasets, gateways, and refresh schedules for high performance and minimal latency.
   • Assess and fine-tune existing BI infrastructure, ensuring dashboards scale efficiently as data volumes grow.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
   • Conduct workshops with Operations, Finance, and HR teams to gather requirements and validate functional needs.
   • Work closely with compliance and security teams to maintain adherence to local and international data protection regulations.
   • Provide clear documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to end-users and internal support teams.
5. Testing & Quality Assurance:
   • Execute integration tests, functional tests, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data integrity and alignment with business requirements.
   • Monitor and troubleshoot potential data discrepancies, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption to reporting.
6. Continuous Improvement & Support:
   • Propose best practices for CI/CD pipelines, version control, and release management of BI solutions.
   • Offer ongoing post-deployment support, addressing production issues and enhancing dashboards based on user feedback.
   • Stay updated on the latest Power BI features, Azure offerings, and other BI technologies to recommend innovative solutions.

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Power BI: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop, Service, and Report Server).
  • DAX & Power Query (M): Advanced proficiency in designing complex calculations, transformations, and custom queries.
  • Data Engineering: Strong background in ETL/ELT, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
  • SQL & Databases: Solid grasp of SQL querying, stored procedures, and performance tuning (Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, etc.).
  • Azure Stack (Preferred): Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or similar cloud-based data integration platforms.
  • Scripting & Automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for data pipeline automation is a plus.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to executive stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies and technical challenges under tight deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Prior experience in aviation, financial services, or HR analytics is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and information security best practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on-site and/or travel periodically to client locations within Saudi Arabia.
