We are seeking a skilled Patient Journey Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of patient journeys and related treatments in Ophthalmology, enabling engagement at the specialist level.

Job Summary

This is a senior-level role within our organization, requiring strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to understand and leverage digital means and tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating relationships with the medical/scientific community, including physicians and medical centers, and providing information on research developments and new concepts in medical treatment.

The Medical Affairs Partner (Ophthalmology) demonstrates personal purpose around improving the patient journey, as well as strong passion to create value and impact on the ecosystem. They think from an Enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, in order to bring best possible outcomes to both the local health environment, and more broadly, across the globe.

  • Stewards products and services relevant to their therapeutic area/ecosystem throughout their lifecycle, supporting quality use of medicine and improved patient outcomes.

  • Maintain a broad understanding of relevant present portfolio and future pipeline. Anticipate and address future-based ecosystem and patient journey solutions

  • Able to share scientific information concerning a pharmaceutical product, including sharing investigational findings in scientific media, direct communications and at scientific conferences with healthcare professionals and/or the scientific community in a reactive manner.

  • Supports relevant PDMA and Country Clinical Operations trial, Early Access Program and Compassionate Use program activities within their disease area/ecosystem

  • Focuses on the importance of bringing the outside in, working with partners to uncover all potential opportunities to transform outcomes for patients, faster. Brings the inside out, to bring expertise, science and knowledge to the ecosystem.

  • Acts as a trusted partner and is the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between stakeholders and the organization; shares the patient and stakeholder community needs internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster.

  • Partners with patient journey stakeholders to remove roadblocks and unlock possibilities to deliver value for patients and the community.

  • Stewards the organization's products through their lifecycle and supports their appropriate use, which includes sharing their merits with HCPs in a truthful and balanced manner.

  • Overseeing the patient journey in its entirety, the Medical Affairs Partner acts as a system thinker with the ability to identify shared purpose among stakeholders and leverages this to co-create solutions with stakeholders in the ecosystem.

  • Empowered to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other partners.

  • Ensures great experiences whenever stakeholders in the ecosystem engage with the organization's employees, products and services.
