We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Specialist to oversee database performance, integrity, and security. The ideal candidate will plan and develop databases, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with developers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and tools.
  • Maintain database resources integrity, security, and availability.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize for maximum efficiency.
  • Implement database security measures (encryption, access control, auditing).
  • Backup and restore databases to ensure business continuity.
  • Design disaster recovery solutions.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Maintain database configuration documentation and processes.
  • Collaborate with developers to align database design with application requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and support of internal databases and systems.
  • Analyze and resolve real-time database issues efficiently.
  • Ensure data privacy compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role (2–5 years).
  • Strong SQL skills and knowledge of SQL server tools.
  • Experience with multiple database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services is beneficial.
  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified DBA or Microsoft SQL Server Certification are desirable.
Preferred Skills:
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
  • Experience with database replication and clustering.
  • Exposure to database management tools like phpMyAdmin or pgAdmin.
