Key Responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes is essential for this position.
  • Proficient experience with Android development using Java (proficiency in languages such as Kotlin/C++/Python/C# would be an advantage).
  • The successful candidate will have strong experience with publishing Android apps.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices is essential.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning is also required.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as touch.
  • Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers, would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks is required.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications is also required.
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization is essential.
  • Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines is required.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or DevOps, is necessary.
