Blood Bank Technologist

The clinical laboratory is a critical component of healthcare delivery, serving the diagnostic needs of patients through its laboratory services that span across the country.

The department consists of five major sections namely chemical pathology, haematology & transfusion medicine, histopathology, microbiology, and molecular pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and teaching/training.

• Coordinate daily administrative and technical activities according to laboratory procedures and policies.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and policy guidelines.
• Manage staffing matters such as attendance, discipline, and counseling to ensure implementation of laboratory and institutional policies.
• Communicate critical results effectively in a timely manner and document as per protocol.
• Perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory tests or technical procedures and finalize reports according to laboratory protocols.
• Develop and authorize duty rota and approve staff overtime.
• Evaluate compliance with standards.

• Bachelor of Science (BSC) in Biological Sciences or related field with four years of program or Master's degree.
• Three years of experience as Senior Technologist or equivalent relevant experience gained at a hospital.
• Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
• Knowledge of latest developments in Medical Technology field.
• Good knowledge of employee relations techniques.
