Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our offshore software development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting large-scale applications using Java programming language.

About the Role:

This is a leadership role that requires several years of overall experience in developing large-scale applications, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position. You should have hands-on experience directly in Java programming, as well as knowledge of SQL, application servers, servlets, EJB, JSP, and HTML.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop large-scale applications using Java programming language
  • Lead a team of developers to design and architect systems
  • Develop strong fundamentals of computer science, including knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Tomcat application server
  • Background with C++ programming
  • Experience developing lexers, parsers and compilers
  • Knowledge of Struts and/or Velocity Apache projects
  • Experience in both Windows and Unix environments deploying Java based systems
  • Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes and stress conditions

Working Environment:

This position is located in Karachi, Pakistan and involves off-shore development for a US-based firm. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
