Job Title: AI Procurement Specialist

Overview:

This role supports the electrical engineering team by identifying, evaluating, and recommending materials, components, and vendors for project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and procurement, with experience working with data-driven decision-making tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Electrical Design Team in creating assembly drawings to reduce processing time for equipment take offs.
  • Coordinate with Procurement for regular updates to cost catalogs and assemblies.
  • Optimize and standardize electrical component selection to balance cost, performance, and availability.
  • Review take offs and generate a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for a project.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on technical compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review vendor technical documentation, material specifications, and certifications.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered tools for process improvement, automation, and standardization.
  • Ensure selected components and materials align with engineering design and project needs.
  • Provide technical justifications for supplier selection to Engineering and Procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with Value Engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities in sourcing.
  • Recommend alternative materials or vendors that meet or exceed project specifications.
  • Ensure procured components meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct technical assessments of materials for long-term reliability and compatibility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design, procurement, supply chain, or vendor evaluation within the electrical industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and related Autodesk software, and experienced with ERP systems (SAP, Procore, Oracle, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AI-driven procurement technologies or experience working with data-driven decision-making tools.
