Job Overview

Oxbridge Digital is a forward-thinking institution dedicated to delivering exceptional education. We are seeking an experienced Lecturer - Optometry / Orthoptics to join our faculty and contribute to the growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Meet annual targets assigned by the Head of Department.
  2. Work towards securing a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students, as set by the Dean/Principal.
  3. Teach assigned courses in line with faculty workload policy.
  4. Continuously develop teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
  5. Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
  6. Challenge thinking, foster debate, and develop students' abilities to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
  7. Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements where appropriate.
  8. Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing feedback to students.
  9. Maintain records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation in examinations.
  10. Mentor 15 to 20 students as part of the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  11. Update data in VLE and other required software as per requirements.
  12. Incorporate Islamic and ethical values in teaching and participate in departmental and university committee activities as required.
  13. Ensure teaching content and delivery methods align with RIU mission and respond to subordinates' and student needs.
  14. Supervise and randomly check student attendance in classes/labs/practicals.
  15. Write or contribute to publications and disseminate research findings using appropriate media.
  16. Seek practical applications of research findings.
  17. Conduct independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
  18. Act as a line manager, supervising the work of others in research teams and projects, or as a PhD supervisor when required.
  19. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head.
