Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and deploy secure REST & GraphQL APIs powering web, mobile, and partner integrations.
  2. Implement robust authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT) with role-based access controls.
  3. Own CI/CD pipelines: automated tests, static analysis, container builds, multi-env deploys.
  4. Create background workers, cron jobs, and real-time webhooks synchronizing data with third-party SaaS.
  5. Monitor, debug, and optimize production services using CloudWatch, Posthog, Vercel, and structured logging.
  6. Collaborate with front-end engineers to define API contracts and deploy them to production.
Qualifications
  1. 4+ years building production backends in Node.js/TypeScript, ideally with ownership of at least one CI/CD pipeline.
  2. Deep knowledge of relational databases (Postgres or MySQL), migrations, query optimization, and caching (Redis).
  3. Experience with modern web tools like Vercel, Sentry, Supabase, and cloud-native patterns.
  4. Comfort with containerization and cloud-native architectures (Docker, AWS Lambda/ECS/Fargate).
  5. Experience integrating external APIs and maintaining robust webhook/event systems.
  6. Strong testing culture (unit, integration, contract testing) and commitment to secure coding standards.
