About the role
We're looking for an experienced back-end developer with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will be working with a wide range of technologies, including Python, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining major functional changes to existing software systems or new ones.
The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of distributed systems challenges, micro-service-based architectures, and asynchronous communication. They will also be familiar with persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Caffeine.
Your key responsibilities:
Design and develop high-performance, stable, and scalable software systems.
Drive best practices and set standards for the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and oversee their designs, code quality, and integration into the team.
Analyse complex problems and develop creative solutions that meet business needs.
Work with agile methodologies to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
5-9 years of experience in back-end development with Python and/or Java.
Deep understanding of containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud computing (AWS).
Familiarity with messaging queues (e.g., Kafka) and asynchronous communication patterns.
Experience with persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Caffeine.
Practical knowledge of alerting, metrics, and logging tools like Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, PagerDuty.
