Job Description:

  • Responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, including month and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, bank account statement reconciliations, fixed asset activity, debt activity.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including the Company's Financial Statement, periodic updates to the Trial Balance, Statement of comprehensive income and Profit and Loss Statement (monthly/annually).
  • Manage pre-payments, accruals and arrears schedules, check and post month-end journal vouchers, and finalize accounts to the Statement of Financial Position.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, provide recommendations, improve systems and procedures, initiate corrective actions.
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Oversee fiscal files and records to document transactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager with 3-5 years' experience required; 3 years in Retail sector preferably.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and ORACLE-EBS (R-12).
  • Ability to handle large amounts of accounting data, proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, ability to direct and supervise an accounting team.
